Cork Indoor Sports Awards 2019
On Friday 12th April members of TKDI came together in the Metropole Hotel to celebrate with Mr Greg Desmond on his Cork Indoor Sports Award for 2019. Mr. Desmond (Bishopstown TKD) was recognised not only for his dedication to the art of Tae Kwon-Do but also for his tireless fundraising skills which saw over €7000 raised for Bishopstown competitors at the 2018 World Championships in Birmingham. His work continues with raffles and generous donations from his jewelers in Bandon.

2019 Black Belt Preliminaries
On Friday 5th April over 40 black tags and black belts took to the floor in Carrigaline Community Hall for the 2019 Black Belt Preliminary Grading. NUIG at Leinster Championships
NUIG at the Leinster Championships On Sunday the 24th of March, 2 members of NUIG Taekwon-do Ireland travelled to Athlone Institute of Technology in Westmeath to compete in the Leinster Championships, hosted by Athlone Taekwon-do. Bishopstown TKD Head Back to Gormanston!
Bishopstown Taekwondo travelled to Gormanston Co. Meath for the INTA International Open Championships at the weekend. The SMA Hall Wilton based club were competing at this event for the first time. It is the longest running International Open in Europe. There were 500 competitors competing over the two days. NUIG at UCC Intervarsities
On Saturday 23rd of February, 6 members of NUIG Tae Kwon-Do travelled down to the Mardyke Arena in Cork to take part in the Tae Kwon-Do Intervarsities, hosted by UCC. The team did well through the day, walking away with 14 medals: 5 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze. They started well with Roisin O’Loughlin scoring silver in the female black belt patterns. Teenage Kicks at the Leisureplex!!
On Friday 28th December TKDI teens descended upon the Leisureplex on MacCurtain Street for the annual TKDI Teen Party. Quasar Laser Tag and Bowling were enjoyed by all - under the watchful eye of Leisureplex staff and club instructors.
