On Friday 12th April members of TKDI came together in the Metropole Hotel to celebrate with Mr Greg Desmond on his Cork Indoor Sports Award for 2019. Mr. Desmond (Bishopstown TKD) was recognised not only for his dedication to the art of Tae Kwon-Do but also for his tireless fundraising skills which saw over €7000 raised for Bishopstown competitors at the 2018 World Championships in Birmingham. His work continues with raffles and generous donations from his jewelers in Bandon. Within Bishopstown TKDs walls Mr Desmond is is a popular and helpful student with both junior and senior members - always willing to lend a hand in class and always enthusiastic and smiling. Currently recovering from injury, Mr Desmond is still extremely active in his club and has retained his passion for the art. He is indeed a worthy recipient of this prestigious award. Celebrations too for Ms Sandra Walsh, who’s dedication to Tae Kwon-Do was recognised on the 25th anniversary of her CISA award. Ms Walsh was the deserved recipient of this award in 1994 and has continued to train and teach in Bishopstown TKD. Huge congratulations to both Mr Desmond and Ms Walsh.
